Burkhardt

Burkhardt was a bustling community in the mid to late 1800s, with a dance hall, cheese factory, blacksmith, power company, flour mill, and several small businesses. The town’s namesake, Christian Burkhardt, was instrumental in many of these enterprises. Today, Burkhardt is an unincorporated community in the Town of St. Joseph home to two gas station/ convenience stores, local favorite Willow River Saloon/ Carbone’s Pizza, and Willow Kayaks.

Willow River State Park is nearby.
